Reclaim Your Smile Aesthetics with Tooth Implants
Dental Implants
Tooth loss impacts your smile and your life in several ways. You may feel self-conscious about the gaps in your smile, which could keep you from interacting confidently with other people.
You may also have difficulties chewing and eating with ease, which can impact your nutrition and health. Imagine not being able to enjoy food at your favourite restaurant!
Dental implants offer an excellent solution for tooth replacement that restores both your root, which protects your bone health, and your tooth to restore function and aesthetics.
How a Dental Implant Works
A tooth implant uses three integral components to replace your tooth with the closest thing possible to a natural tooth:
- The implant: This is a biocompatible titanium screw that fuses with and protects your bone, restoring your root.
- The abutment: This piece attaches your implant to its restoration.
- The restoration: A customised porcelain crown is the restoration of choice for a single tooth. Dental implants can also support dentures or a bridge to replace multiple missing teeth.
The Dental Implant Process
Dr Mailk’s extensive training and skills allow him to provide comprehensive implant dentistry from start to finish at our Mernda dental office.
Once you’ve decided that implants are the right treatment for your smile after an initial evaluation, Dr Malik will place the implants during a simple, in-office surgical procedure. After that, your implant will need a few months to heal and integrate with your bone, taking the place of your root through osseointegration.
When your implant is fully integrated, Dr Malik will place your custom-designed restoration. He uses two to six implants to support a bridge or denture and one to support a porcelain crown.
The Advantages of Dental Implants
Tooth implants offer several advantages that our patients appreciate:
- Protection for your jawbone against the deterioration that occurs with root loss
- The look, function, and feel of a natural tooth
- Bite stabilisation
- Excellent longevity with the potential to last for a lifetime
- Cost-effective due to incredible longevity
- Easy to care for like you would a natural tooth
A dental implant is a wise investment in not only your happy, healthy smile but also your dental health.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Dr Malik has helped many patients restore their smiles and chewing function after tooth loss. He offers solutions for one or multiple missing teeth with dental implants, bridges, and dentures. Here’s more information about your options.
Dental Bridges Restore Adjacent Missing Teeth
A dental bridge uses two crowns as anchors that attach to your healthy teeth to support one or more prosthetic teeth in between.
Full or Partial Dentures Restore Multiple Teeth
A partial denture fills the gaps in your smile with prosthetic teeth that attach to a removable appliance.
A traditional complete denture replaces an entire arch of teeth with a removable appliance typically made of acrylic and custom-designed for your smile.
Dental Implants Can Replace One or Multiple Teeth
Dental implants closely mimic your tooth by restoring both its root and crown. They are the only tooth replacement option to replace a tooth and its root.
Implants can also support a bridge or denture to hold the appliance in place securely.
